Puppies

Puppy Care

1.     Each puppy receives lots of individual love and attention as they are handled daily by our three children. Their weight and development are monitored regularly.

2.     The pups are wormed at least twice before going to their new homes.

3.     They are given their first set of shots at 6 weeks.

4.     Each pup is micro-chipped with an Avid microchip to identify them should they get lost.

5.     The puppies are evaluated for temperament, conformation, obedience, hunting ability, and agility.

6.     We work with the puppies utilizing their sense of smell to help them make the transition into their new homes. We request that you leave a crate and a towel, blanket or piece of clothing such as a shirt with us so that the puppy can recognize your smell as the smell of their new pack.

7.     Each puppy will receive a puppy packet consisting of:

·         AKC limited Registration

·         A small bag of food

·         Health and development information

·         Vaccination records

·         NuVet Plus samples

·         Puppy care information pamphlet

·         A free sample of pet insurance

·         Microchip information and collar tag

8.     Each puppy comes with a health guarantee against any OFA or CERF genetic problems.

9.     We will take our puppies back for any reason.

10.   Life time breeder support. We love our puppies and want you to feel free to call or e-mail any questions, concerns or even just to share any of the many fun moments that can come with your new puppy.

We are very excited to announce we have a litter of puppies! The puppies from this litter are a mixture of black, and chocolate so far. We are accepting applications and taking deposits to hold puppies from this litter. For more information on Teddy, click here.

Adopting a Puppy

When you adopt a puppy, it becomes part of the family. That is why we at Kaymus Labs pay close attention to details. We want the experience of adopting a puppy to be a positive and successful one, so we ask that you fill out an Adoption Application. This is a tool that we use to match the family’s lifestyle with the puppy’s temperament thereby raising our chances for a successful relationship.

We strive to produce a great all around dog that is just as adept in the show ring as she is at retrieving or working as a therapy dog.

We feel that it is important to take conformation as well as temperament into consideration. The Labrador should be physically strong, mentally alert, and emotionally stable.

We only have one to two litters per year that are planned carefully to improve on the breed.  Our dogs are screened for hips, elbows and eyes and come with a guarantee against congenital defects. The puppies are handled and loved daily by myself as well as my three children. Should the need to return the dog arise, we will take them back any time for any reason. All puppies have their dew claws removed, are wormed at least twice, receive their first set of vaccines and are micro-chipped before they go to their new homes.
